The
TechTerm is the low-cost member of the Two Technologies' family of
hand held terminals. It is a rugged, fully functional ASCII terminal that
is specifically designed for industrial applications. The TechTerm is
flexible with menu-programmable function keys that can transmit a total of
fifteen selected characters. Host equipment has direct control using
private escape sequences. Host control includes cursor movement and
appearance (clearing all or part of the display), key click audibility,
and the sounding of one of four distinct signals from the TechTerms'
built-in speaker. Function key definitions and operating parameters are
stored in non-volatile memory. Available I/O configurations include
RS-232, and RS-422 as well as standard CMOS/LSTTL logic levels. Built-in
battery power, with a full charge providing up to forty-eight hours of
operation, is optional.
As with all Two Technologies' hand held terminals, the TechTerm is
remarkably rugged. Its case is molded from General Electric Cycolac® ABS,
one of the most durable, chemical-resistant materials available. A unique
built-in retractable hanger is provided. The keypad surface is securely
framed and clamped into place to ensure excellent splash resistance and
prevent curling or peeling of the keypad overlay. Stock and custom keypad
layouts with 45, 32, 30, 20, and 15 keys are available.
