Nickel plated steel or Stainless SteelLoad Cells are used to convert the strain on the metal to a
variable resistance. The bridge configuration of the strain
gauges, allows the load cell to output a low level voltage change
based on the input voltage (maintained at a constant and stable
level) and the amount of strain or load placed on the load cell.
At full load the nominal volatage output with a 10 volt dc input
is 20 millivolts to 30 millivolts. This signal can be conditioned
by our signal conditioners to provide
0 to 10 volts, or 4 to 20 milliamps, or RS232 with a 0 to 30,000
digital output.
The type of cell to be used is based on mechanical design, maximum load, and side loading effect.
